This book has it all. Color photographs throughout the book, rock art sites across 6 different states and great directions on how to find them. As if this is not enough, the author also throws in interesting "sidelights" that highligh interesting facts about the topic you are reading. I should also add that the book is compact and easy to read making it great to take along on your southwest trip. The book documents a lot of smaller sites and larger sites which are not as widely known. An example of the latter is La Cienguilla in New Mexico. This is a large site that has over 4,000 glyphs and is only minutes from Sante Fe. Overall this is a great book to use to find sites you did not know about and enjoy pictures of sites you one day wish to visit.
