Lesser Known Plants of the Superstitions

Don Wells and Jean Groen have been giving presentations about the foods of the Superstitions for several years.  They find different specimens and talk about the items, where they are found, what they look like, and the medicinal use for the plant, seed, or fruit.  Jean has researched many old Indian recipes using the native items and has developed her own "modern" versions of the recipes.

The power point presentation will address some of the lesser know plants of the Sonoran Desert and their uses.  Don and Jean will have samples of many of the items discussed and you may purchase a copy of their cookbook "Plants of the Sonoran Desert".  The cookbook sells in the Museum gift shop for $19.95.  The book may be purchased on the day of the power point lectuure for $16.95, a 10% discount.
