Fact Lost Dutchman

Fact & Fiction of the Dutchman’s Lost Mine
Compiled by the Superstition Mountain Historical Society

This book is compiled of articles, some of which have appeared in the Society’s Journals, booklets and brochures but the majority of the content is made up from specific information, photography and actual displays as they appear in the museum gallery. Just about every facet of the known facts and some fiction about the Lost Dutchman make up the content. Former President Clay Worst’s extremely popular lecture on the subject which many consider to be the finest presentation ever done on the subject…and which Clay presents as the opening event of the museum’s lecture series each year. The book consists of 58 pages printed in black and white which includes historical documents. It also includes the Treasure maps.

Treasure Maps of the Superstitions
Amy Michelle Mosier

This book chronicles not just the conquistador era and a century of prospectors but my own adventure of following the treasure maps. A few years ago had somebody told me that I would someday follow a treasure map, I wouldn't have believed it. From that first phone call with Tin Man to this book, it's been quite a ride!

An historical accounting of Jacob Waltz and the "Dutchman's Lost Gold"

The Bible on the Lost Dutchman Gold Mine and Jacob Waltz
Helen Corbin

In July 2000 U.S. News and World Report named the world's greatest mysteries: Jacob Waltz's Lost Dutchman Gold Mine was listed among such notables as Noah's Ark, the Holy Grail, the Ark of the Covenant and King Solomon's Mines.

Coincidentally, author, Helen Corbin, working on her third Superstition title, was given permission to use heretofore unpublished diaries from four pioneer families. The research, for the first time in history, documents Waltz from birth to the grave. Besides the manifest of the ship on which he sailed to America, there are German translations of the directions to Jacob's infamous mine given to Reiney Petrasch and Julia Thomas before the old man died. In fact, this landmark text offers historical proof of these and all major speculations that have occurred in the hundreds of book published in the 111 years following the German's death.

TREASURE!
THE LOST DUTCHMAN MINE

A&E HOME VIDEO

In 1861, a German prospector named Jacob Waltz known to all as the "Dutchman" lay dying on a bed in the Arizona home of Julia Thomas. Underneath the bed was 48 pounds of rich gold ore, which he claimed to have extracted from a vein he discovered in Arizona's Superstition Mountains. Before he died, he whispered tantalizing clues to Thomas about the location of the mine. THE LOST DUTCHMAN MINE tells the story of Thomas and the thousands of others who have since searched for Waltz's mine. None have ever found it, and many have met their death looking for it. Among the unlucky were Adolph Ruth in 1931 and James Gravey in 1947. Their steps are retraced here, as we go into the wilderness in search of the fabled mine. Did Waltz really mine a secret lode for over ten years, and if so, how did he keep its location from others for all that time? And just what did he did he tell Thomas before he died? These questions and more are explored in this fascinating look at one of the Southwest's enduring legends.

Senners Gold

Senner's Gold
Helen Corbin

Historian Tom Kollenborn and former attorney general Bob Corbin finally reveal their search for the Superstitions other treasure.

A diary found in an attic trunk told the story of a cowboy-miner, his search for forbidden gold and of the other lives forever changed because of it.

The Mammoth - one of Arizona's richest mines - broken lives - lost treasures and a skeleton in a shallow grave.

About the Author:

After the success of The Curse of the Dutchman's Gold, the lore of the lost treasure compelled the author Corbin to write Senner's little known story. An exciting factional account based on a true story that occurred in the Arizona Territory over a hundred years ago.

The Map found in a faded diary led to a lost camp, a hidden cache
and a one-armed skeleton.

Corbin, winner of awards from the National and Arizona Press Women, is married to Bob Corbin. They reside in Phoenix, Arizona.

THE LOST DUTCHMAN MINE

Part 2
THE HOLMES MANUSCRIPT

COMPILED AND ANNOTATED BY
T.E. GLOVER

The Holmes Manuscripts is the only surviving account of any of the pioneer families originally involved with Jacob Waltz (the "Lost Dutchman") and his gold. Here unfolds for the first time the original story of Jacob Waltz and the Lost Dutchman Mine, accompanied by original
Holmes' family photographs.

The Manuscript was discovered uncataloged in the vaults of the Arizona State Library in the early 1970's among the private papers of an early newspaperman. The question became: Is this the genuine lost manuscript of the Holmes family? After all, George "Brownie" Holmes - the apparent author - disclaimed any and all association with it.

Was Brownie telling the truth? Or, was he trying to confuse others who searched for the mine? Through a decade of research in archives and private libraries, supported by interviews with
Brownie's surviving family, the author has authenticated the manuscript.
It has been annotated and indexed.

This is a second of a two book series on the mine: The Lost Dutchman Mine of Jacob Waltz.
This volume is cross referenced to Part 1, The Golden Dream, and to the

Don Shade

This is an anthology of the travels of man through the Valley of Illusions.

The author has spent his spare time for approximately thirty years in the investigation of lost mines and hidden treasures.

In the Middle Ages the Prester John Legend enjoyed the same currency as the Lost Dutchman mine does today.

Are most of the great treasures of the world hidden at the same latitude?
The ancients thought so.

How did they arrive at this one location and why do certain people today seek this same location? Is it by chance? Is it by design? Is it by archetypal symbols carried in a genetic manner?

Is the world prepared to accept a tremendous treasure? Most people think not.
If we have been living through two thousand years of the antichrist, would the appearance of a symbol of a second Messiah change the attitude of the people of the world?

Do you dare to think on these things?
